Results for each exam section are updated directly in the candidate's Oxford Test of English account. Listening & Reading results are available immediately after the test; Speaking & Writing results are released after approximately 5 working days. When results are ready, candidates receive a notification email and can log in to the system to view or download their results report.
The Oxford Test of English certificate reports results according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): each skill has its own score and CEFR level. After each exam section, candidates receive a results report for that skill; once all four skills are completed, candidates receive a full certificate showing an overall score and overall CEFR level. Note that the Oxford Test of English certificate only shows the candidate's highest result across Oxford Test of English or Oxford Test of English (for Schools) sections; Oxford Test of English Advanced results are presented on a separate certificate. Results are valid for life and never expire — however, some organizations such as universities may have their own requirements regarding how long an English proficiency certificate remains acceptable.
